Felony charges will be sought against actor Jimmy Smits, whoplays a street-smart lawyer on the popular television series "L.A.Law," for an alleged attack on three police officers.
The 31-year-old Smits, who last month was nominated for an EmmyAward for his role as Victor Sifuentes, and Juanita Cruz, 28, werebooked Sunday night after Los Angeles police were called to thebuilding where they share an apartment.
They were charged with battery upon peace officers and releasedon $1,000 bond each.
