Fed: Terror suspect kind, polite: Islamic president
MELBOURNE, Jan 14 AAP - Australian terror suspect Jack Terrence Thomas was not thesort of person to become involved with the al-Qaeda terrorist network, according to thehead of a Melbourne mosque he attended.
Newport Islamic Society president Mohamed Dennaoui said Mr Thomas, arrested and heldin Pakistan, was a kind, polite and understanding man.
"I would be quite surprised that he got involved into anything like that," Mr Dennaouitold Melbourne radio 3AW.
"I think he was caught in the wrong game unfortunately."
